Arranque de temporada 2013.
GP da Turquia sem surpresas.




Esta noite tivemos o arranque de temporada para os Formulas do PrestoGP, o circuito de Istanbul recebeu então a 1ª ronda da época, e na primeira Qualificação do ano Marko Vuori não desperdiçou o seu dominio nos treinos livres e arrancou a sua primeira Pole-Position no PrestoGP, o Marko completou a volta mais rapida em 1:38.213 apesar de ter sido a primeira já se esperava pois o Marko partia como principal favorito para esta corrida, deixando para trás Helder Filipe que ficou a -0.090 da Pole em 3º largou Dino Paolini a -0.297 da frente, o campeão Reik Major, teve uma má Qualificação largando apenas de 10º lugar com 1:39.736 a sensivelmente 1segundo e meio da Pole Position, apartir daqui esperava-se uma corrida dificil para ele chegar à frente.

Para a corrida a expectativa e ansiedade era grande, ora estamos na primeira ronda, e ninguem sabe muito bem o que esperar, pois vamos descobrir...

Apos o arranque Helder Filipe saltou para a liderança na frente de Marko Vuori, e o restante pelotão passou ileso à possivel e expectavel confusão da primeira travagem, e no final da primeira volta tudo estava calmo, com Filipe na frente de Vuori e David Turnbull que tambem saltou uma posição apos a primeira volta na frente então de Dino Paolini, Reik Major terminava a 1ª volta em 9º lugar.

Antes das paragens nas boxes, tinhamos a corrida estavel, com Marko Vuori na frente, Helder Filipe 2º em 3º vinha Dino Paolini, 4º David Turnbull e a fechar o Top5 Sean Greenlaw tambem ele um pouco abaixo neste inicio de epoca, o campeão Reik Major optou por uma estrategia diferente, 2 paragens para ele, tentando ganhar alguma coisa com isso, depois da 2ª paragem saiu em 7º tendo passado pela liderança momentos antes, e fixando a melhor volta da corrida em 1:39.425.
No segundo stint os pilotos estavam numa fase calma da corrida sem grandes lutas directas, a corrida caminhava para o fim, e ja com 5 abandonos pelo caminho, azar para Eliezer Bartik [Lap 30], Nicolai Nicholson [Lap 28], Henrik Jordfald Olsen [Lap 16], Kurt Kjellin e Bob Lauge que se envolveram na dificil curva 130r logo na primeira volta, na cabeça da corrida abria-se a luta pelo 2º lugar com o Dino Paolini mais rápido e encurtando a distancia que o separava de Helder Filipe, tambem ele optou por uma estrategia diferente, os 2 pilotos naquela fase da corrida, encontravam-se em situações diferentes em termos de desgaste de pneus, mas o piloto portugues segurou o 2º lugar na frente de Dino Paolini que fechou encostado na sua traseira, la na frente Marko Vuori nao foi incomodado na maior parte da corrida, e foi o primeiro a ver a bandeirada de xadrez para vencer a 1ª ronda do campeonato.
A fechar o Top5 ficou David Turnbull, e Reik Major que salvou os estragos da Qualificação, com o 5º lugar final e com a volta mais rapida da corrida.



Marko Vuori domina em Istanbul, Helder Filipe e Dino Paolini completam o pódio.



Foi assim a Ronda de abertura do PrestoGP, pela frente ainda temos 9 longas corridas, em Istanbul Marko Vuori mostrou estar forte, e parece querer afirmar-se como principal candidato a vencer o titulo, mas agora espera-se a desforra do 5 vezes campeão do PrestoGP Reik Major, que viu a sua corrida arruinada por culpa propria, devido à má Qualificação do piloto alemão, e tambem o que nos vao mostrar todos os candidatos a vitórias, no que ai vem.

Filipe (2nd): "Race start, i had a good start and pull ahead of Marko but after, Marko push and attack me with more top speed, he overtakes me easy...
i have in my mind, i've more fuel than you lool and trying to dont lose too much time lap 19, 6seconds behind feels good for me, but i found a "problem" a worry for me lool is that concentrate on driving and trying to do some account on strategy, isnt easy and i lost the concentration and lost the car, loosing 7 or 8 seconds so, i think well let me take some risk now, and did a short pit-stop, but no avail, behind Marko, and seeing Reik so fast, passing me and Marko aswell, and i think in this moment here is the champion, hoping he will stop into pits ...
2nd stint i just have a challenge, hold my second place and i can do it face Dino.
Was a good start of season, and let's see what's happen here in after...

Marko (1st): "New season, new car, some new competitors. I was glad to see so many drivers in this event, and I hope we can get even more for coming rounds. I did not really know what to expect with new car, but good pre-season tests gave me some confidence to look for a good result here.
Helder at P2 got a better start than I did and made it first to T1, but I was right behind him. In the opening laps Helder at P1 seemed to be really quick, driving with a little bit risk too, but his car seemed not as fast as mine in the long straights. Until at the end of lap 4 I got a perfect slipstream for start/finish straight and was able to brake past Helder for T1. On lap 20, when it was time for my scheduled pit stop, Helder was around 6 seconds behind. After that I was in the lead again, but this time I could see Reik behind me and he was catching rapidly (~0.8 sec/lap). I was a bit confused about his pace as I did not know, if he was still going to pit or not. Finally Reik overtook me at the end of lap 27 and went to pits right after that. At the end, I finished first and the gap between me and Helder was around 11 seconds. After the race I heard that Helder had spun on lap 20, exactly at the same time as I was pitting. Had he not spun, he had come out of the pits around 3 seconds in front of me instead of 2 seconds behind. This had made the battle for the win pretty fierce, considering how well he defended his position with heavier car in the opening laps of the race.
Great feeling to win for the second time at Presto league, this was a perfect start for this season, and I am looking forward to continue strongly in coming races.


Dino (3rd): "Nice opening for the season.
Had a normal start to the race. Lost the position from the inside into turn1, like on every other start too on this track, so this was allright. Was chasing David until I had a very silly and scary moment, when my car slid to wide in the triple-left corners and I slid off the curb to a half-spin, almost hitting the inside barricade, I was very lucky to just loose a couple of seconds and no position without more consequences...
A couple of laps after that David had something similar, I already had a relatively big gap to Helder in front, I was now trying to reduce for the entire rest of the race. I pitted on the last lap I could do and came out about 7 or so seconds behind Helder. My second stint was great, by far the best drive that the car gave me on this track.
I only catched up to Helder on the last lap, without a good chance for overtaking, when the finish already came early.
Well done to all and let's see how we do on the next race.

Obrigado! Foi bom para mim esta corrida, apesar de um erro de "rokkie" foi um bom regresso ao PrestoGP e ao Race, voltei a disfrutar duma corrida, que ate a maior parte do tempo foi "monotona", como podem ver nos resultados nao houve grandes diferencas entre todos para uma corrida de 1h com Formulas, mas apesar de alguma monotonia, diferenças de 5, 6 segundos para o da frente e de tras, tive "acção" no arranque e logo depois na 4ª volta, depois das boxes tambem algum movimento, e no final tive que segurar um "camon" mas foi razoavelmente aquele tipo de corrida discreta, e um piloto discreto, a corrida nao ofereceu muito mais, inicio de temporada, mas deu para um bom resultado, curti a corrida e isso é importante, talvez ate o mais importante para levar a cabo um bom campeonato ate ao fim, motivado, e venham de la as proximas agora que esta feito o lançamento do campeonato. Apesar de as proximas 2 corridas, nao sejam de maior agrado, Silverstone e Nurburgring bahhh mas vamos la!

Agora uma semana de "pit-stop" vou ate as 24h.
